I had another introduction written for this front page. It was clever, leaning toward the witty even, with a quote from Bertrand Russell just to show that I've got intellectual pretentions if not substance. Then I thought, 'Why not cut to the chase?' People will either like the things I write or they won't.

            So far about half the folks who've read my articles thought they were funny, well written etc and half didn't much care for them. It didn't seem to matter how well they knew me, how smart, good looking or successful they were. So, no pressure. Read a couple, see what you think and then we'll talk.

            By the way, if this was baseball I'd be hitting five hundred and be worth my weight in strontium ninety.
